GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES FOR PHILIPPINE JOURNAL OF SOCIAL WORK
Aims and Scope
The Philippine Journal of Social Work, published annually, is the official journal of the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. It publishes articles that are empirical, conceptual, or theoretical, or a combination of all three, that enhances our understanding of behavior that has practical implications within the Philippine context.
Notes for Contribution
Submitted articles should meet the following criteria: a) the article has not been published in any language before; b) it is not being considered concurrently for publication elsewhere, and c) the research reported in the manuscript was conducted in accordance with general ethical guidelines in social work.
Authors should submit their manuscript electronically in PDF or Word document or three copies of their manuscript (double-spaced typed) to the Editor. Manuscript should be in English follow the style of the American Psychological Association (APA) and should be around 30 pages long (double-spaced) or between 5,000 – 7,000 words.
References should be listed in alphabetical order. Each listed reference should be cited in text, and each text citation should be listed in the References.
Figures and Tables.
Only relevant figures and tables should be included. Ensure that they are properly referred to in the manuscript. Figures need to be prepared in black and white.
In submitting their articles for review, the authors agree to a peer-review process, the reviewers of which will be assigned by the editorial board. Articles submitted for publication in the Philippine Journal of Social Work are evaluated according to the following criteria:
- significance of the contribution
- appropriateness of the literature review
- clarity of research problem/framework
- methodological rigor
- quality of analysis
- quality of the discussion and interpretation of the results
- quality of overall writing
- adherence to APA format
Authors will be given feedback on their submission. If the articles have potential for publication, authors are expected to make the suggested revisions to their manuscript.
The author/s of each article will receive a copy of the journal that includes the article.
